GQ's Premiere of 8ight
James Mullinger: When GQ first witnessed folk singer-songwriter Beatie Wolfe in London's St. Pancras, she enraptured us with her smoky, captivating melodies about love and loss. Unsurprisingly, it transpires, Leonard Cohen is a fan (in fact, one of her repertoire's stand-outs is a bold re-working of his "A Thousand Kisses Deep"). Updating traditional sounds with lyrical snapshots of modern life, she continues to innovate with her new album, 8ight, which has not only been released on vinyl but also as a 3D interactive tablet app, giving her music videos the multidimensional treatment without - thank goodness - call for special glasses. » read more

Ham&High wrote: "Wolfe has a momentum behind her powered by a whole army of believers. She is the definition of a 21st century artist, but with Cohen, Jagger et al. just over her shoulder, she knows her history. With the music industry still trying to come to terms with its commercial future, it could do a lot worse than to follow her lead." » read more
